Kilis 7 Aralık University
Tourism and Hospitality Vocational School
General Information
The Department of Tourism, Hotel, and Catering Services at Kilis 7 Aralık University Vocational School traces its origins to the 2012-2013 academic year, when the Tourism and Hotel Management Program commenced operations and began admitting students. In the 2015-2016 academic year, the Culinary Program was added, and the department has since offered two integrated programs at the associate degree level. In the 2017-2018 academic year, the department separated from the Vocational School and was established as Kilis 7 Aralık University Tourism and Hotel Management Vocational School under Kilis 7 Aralık University. The programs, Tourism and Hotel Management and Culinary, continue to deliver education in the morning (first) teaching shift. These programs are designed to train mid-level qualified personnel capable of contributing to service production processes and, where appropriate, establishing their own businesses.
The Department of Travel, Tourism and Leisure Services began admitting students in the Travel Services Program in the 2017-2018 academic year; however, at present admissions at the associate degree level have been suspended and the program is inactive.
As the tourism sector changes and develops, the demand for skilled professionals who can meet guests’ expectations increases over time. The Tourism and Hotel Management, Culinary, and Tourism and Travel Services Programs within the Vocational School are associate-degree programs designed to meet the sector’s needs by producing skilled personnel who are proficient in vocational automation programs and foreign languages, who possess professional competency, theoretical and practical knowledge and skills, who are open to development, and who will be employed in collaboration with the sector.
Programs are continually reviewed and updated in line with current developments in tourism and sector needs.
